CHRISTCHURCH .RAILWAY STATION
Sir, —To minimise congestion on the Christchurch railway station platform when passengers from and to Lyttelton pass along the main platform, milling it with the passengers joining or alighting from main line trains, I would suggest the following:—Lyttelton dock: that a platform be put along the Moorhouse avenue side. Passengers would connect with the Lyttelton c ervice direct from Moorhouse avenue, and on arrival from Lyttelton the exit would be straight out on to Moorhouse avenue, thus avoiding all and sundry rongregating on the main rial form. It wiV he years before we a completed new station, so surely Christis entitled f o some immediate improvement on what at present is but efficient handling of a lt would be beneficial to Lyttelton. south and west passengers.--Your®, etc.. CENTENNIAL APPROACHING. October 12. 1948.
