STATE POLICE TO BE ABOLISHED
DECISION IN FINLAND (Rec. 8 p.m.) HELSINKI, October 18. The four-man committee set up by the Government in August to reorganise the Finnish State Police after allegations that Communists virtually controlled the police force, has announced that the force will be abolished. Some of its duties will be transferred to a new force and some to the local police. The committee says that “The State police has tended to form a State within the State.”
