There was a very large attendance, including four foundation members, Misses M. Spence, M. C. Fryer, E. Orchard, and M. E. Harvey, who were specially welcomed by the president (Mrs G. H. Watts). Mrs Watts expressed gratitude for birthday gifts which had been received by the club, from the basket circle, arts and crafts, and Mrs Rudkin. A programme was presented by Mesdames Ledsham, J. Scrimshaw, S. Fogg, and T. Kennedy (vocal quartet), Mrs G. R. Burrowes (piano solos), Mrs Enid Frye (recitations), and Mrs Scrimshaw (songs). Mrs H. L. Wilson was accompanist. A competition was won by Miss V. Billens and Miss H. G. Schmidt and another, for the best hat made of flowers, leaves, fruit, or vegetables caused much interest, and was judged by Miss Constance Gee, who considered that the display indicated that there was much talent in the club.
