NORTHERN MINERS’ UNION

NEW ELECTION OF OFFICERS

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, Sept. 26. A complete new election of officers of the Northern Miners’ Union is to be held. This was decided at a mas* meeting of men from all the Waikato mines held in Huntly to-day to discuss the situation created by the recent resignation of the president and secretary of the union, Messrs T. and H. Hall. Nominations will close in a few days, and the election will be held by secret ballot early next month.

Two or three hundred men. a fairly small proportion of the miners in the Huntly district, attended the meeting. The press was not admitted, but a spokesman announced the decision to hold a complete new election.
