FIXING OF TRANSPORT FARES
OBJECTION TO TRANSFER OF AUTHORITY The Christchurch Metropolitan Licensing Authority has decided to support the Auckland Transport Board (as Metropolitan Licensing Authority for the Auckland transport district) ' in an objection to the Minister of Transport to the proposal that the fixation of fares be transferred to a new tribunal. a x A copy of the letter sent to the Minister received by the authority said it was felt that . the authority had special knowledge of local conditions, gained over many years, and that it was accordingly better equipped to deal with fares than the proposed tribunal.
