HYDERABAD’S CASE

REFUSAL TO ACCEPT WITHDRAWAL

ATTITUDE OF STATE’S DELEGATES TO U.N.

(Rec. 8 p.m.) PARIS. Sept. 25. The Hyderabad representatives at tha United Nations in Paris, whom the Nizam has disowned, alleged that India had imposed a censorship over communications in and out of Hyderabad State.

The delegation announced that it refused to accept what it called indirect and second-hand instructions to withdraw its case from the United Nations Security Council. The president of the Security Council (Sir Alexander Cadogan) has called a meeting for Tuesday to examine the status of the Hyderabad delegation and to hear further arguments by both sides.

It is suggested that the Security Council may drop the whole matter or follow the precedent established when Persia made a complaint against Russia in 1946. Then the council adopted the attitude that even when a country withdraws a complaint it can only be deleted when the council is fully satisfied that the situation warrants it.

An Indian Southern Command communique, issued in New Delhi, announced that an Indian Army patrol killed 19 Razakars (militant Moslems) in a clash in the area of Hanamasagrah, about 50 miles north-west of Hospet. on the south-western border of Hyderabad.

Mr Jinnah’s Estate.— Mr Jinnah left £307.000. It is mostly bequeathed to public and educational institutions in Pakistan and India.—Karachi, September 25.
