DRAWN GAME AT WESTPORT BULLER AND SOUTHLAND SUB-UNIONS From Our Own Reporter WESTPORT. September 2. With seven of its regular team not playing, Buller held the touring Southland Sub-Union team to a draw, 3-3, in an uninspiring game at Westport to-day. Conditions were ideal for good football, but the display of the touring team against their opponents was not up to second-grade standards. On occasions the visitors showed dash and with an occasional touch of combined work their backs were unlucky not to score. The solid defence of Dickson, Smallholme, and P. Neighbours held them out, however. For Buller, Dickson kicked a penalty goal from 40 yards out. McDonald scored Southland’s try, after a grand passing rush which began at half-way. N.Z.
