HYDERABAD-INDIA AGREEMENT
BREACHES ALLEGED IN NEW DELHI NEW DELHI, August 31. Adequate action would be taken against Hyderabad for collective breaches of the standstill agreement, said the Indian Deputy Prime Minister (Mr Vallabhbhai Patel) in the Indian Parliament. He added that the Nizam’s decision to place his case before the United Nations was “undoubtedly one of many breaches of the agreement.” India, under the standstill agreement, is responsible for the conduct of Hyderabad’s foreign affairs. Albert Sandler Dead.— The death has occurred of Albert Sandler, aged 42, one of the best-known and most highly-paid radio musicians in Britain. Sandler, who was brought up in the East End of London and began his working life on a salary of 5s a week, had been star violinist of the 8.8. C. Grand Hotel Sunday night feature for a number of years. He had for a considerable time earned a five-figure income from his radio appearances.— London, August 31.
