WOMAN CHARGED WITH TREASON

(Rec. 9 p.m.) WASHINGTON, Aug 21. Mildred Elizabeth Gillars, aged 37, a spinster, who while broadcasting from the Nazi radio during the war. was known to American troops as “Axis Sally,” was charged to-day with treason.

Gillars. who was born in America, arrived from Frankfurt under guard. She will face a grand jury with C. ' - fornian-born Iva Toguri, who, .e United States Government alleges. wa< one of six women who broadcast over the Japanese radio as “Tokyo Rose.”
