FRENCH SUCCESS IN INDO-CHINA
(Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON. August 21. The French High Command has announced that French aircraft, troops and naval forces killed 500 Indo-Chin-ese insurgents in a week’s battle which resulted in “the greatest French victory this year,” says the Saigon correspondent of the Associated Press. The announcement added that French forces had completely routed the Vletminh 7th Army under General Nguyen Bin. The French took 50 prisoners, who included Cambodian rebels.
