SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP TO UNITED
The fourteenth series of matcl.es in the Christchurch Miniature Rifle Association’s winter tournament were completed last week. The final matches in the senior, senior reserve, and junior grades were fired. United put on the very fine score of 555 out of a possible of 560 to beat Cashmere and win the senior championship. R. E. Taylor, of the Cashmere team, won the senior aggregate for 1948 after being runner-up in 1947. East Battalion Home Guard had a clear win in the senior reserve as also did New Brighton in the junior grade. Results were:—
