LOST ART UNION TICKET

PAYMENT SUSPENDED TEMPORARILY (P.A.) OAMARU, August 20. The case of the Oamaru resident who has lost the winning ticket in “My Cat’s Lucky” Art Union was referred to-day to Messrs Hammond and McArthur, who conduct the art unions. Mr McArthur said that following the usual procedure in cases where tickets were reported lost, payment would be suspended for three months. There was a possibility that the purchaser of the ticket might have been mistaken as to its fate, and it might still be found. The character of the hand writing varied in individuals so much that it was often definitely identifiable, and in that case the handwriting would greatly assist in proving ownership. .
