FAITH CURES

, Sir, —M. G. Davies’s assertion that to know God is to understand His laws, i.e., the laws of nature,” is not only a contradiction of scripture but is foolish. For where is there a man who understands the laws of nature? Multitudes of Christians have and are receiving help and guidance, who know very little about the laws of nature. The way to know God is the Bible way through the Person of the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the brightness of God’s glory and the express image of His person. Human opinions and all forms of human reasoning must give way to the teaching o f Scripture, wherein is revealed the perfect sinless character of God in thePerson of His Son, who is the unique standard of holiness. Christians are taught by the Holy Spirit and have long learned “not to put their trust in men. —Yours, etc. August 22. 1948. CHR «TIAN.
