TRIAL IN MOSCOW

RUSSIAN WIFE OF BRITON (Rec. 8.30 p.m.) LONDON, August 5. A Lancashire air mechanic, William Greenhabgh, has been informed by the British Foreign Office that his 21-year-old Russian wife has been sentenced to two years’ deprivation of civil rights in Moscow on charges of false registration. Mrs Greenhabgh is one of the wives whom the Russians have prevented from joining their husbands abroad. , xl J Mr Greenhabgh said yesterday that he believed the charges had arisen because his wife had refused to obey an order to leave Moscow, where she worked at the British Embassy, and return to her home at Archangel. The British Embassy is taking legal advice on the question of an appeal oy Mrs Greenhabgh. A member of the consular staff was present throughout her trial.
