Horrobin, representing the New Zealand Wool Board, haye been appointed members of tne Veterinary Services Council.—(P.A.) Captain A. E- M. Lawrence, deputy assistant adjutant . general, Southern Military District, has left for Auckland to meet the South Island members of the returning draft of J-lorco, He will act as draft officer for the men returnirtg to Lyttelton. Mr H. C. Sutton, who has been awarded a two-year bursary by the i New Zealand branch of the British Empire Cancer Campaign Society, left for London by the Waiwera tnu w-eek. He will do research at the University of Durham, under Professor Paneth, an authority on radio activity, and study with Professor Maynard, of the Royal Cancer Hospital, London.— (P.A.) Mr J. H. E. Schroder was appointed by the council of the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce last evening to represent the chamber on the deputation to wait on the Senate of the University of New Zealand to present the chamber’s case for the establishment of the New Zealand School of Forestry in Christchurch.
