WATERFRONT DELAYS

“ONE GROUP” BLAMED (P.A.) DUNEDIN, June 9. “I don’t suppose there is one farmer at this meeting who does not share my exasperation that food ships are still being held up on New Zealand waterfronts, especially in the North Island,” said the president of the Otago branch of Federated Farmers (Mr S. Sim, of Heriot). when addressing the provincial conference this morning. “These delays are due to obstructive tactics of one group of workers who refuse to recognise their responsibilities. I would not like to have on my conscience the load of misery and despair that these men have earned for themselves,”, he added.
