PRESIDENT ELECT OF ECUADOR

(Rec. 7 p.m.) QUITO (Ecuador). June 7. Mr Galo Plaza Lasso, the former Ecuador Ambassador to Washington, was declared President-elect to-day after the presidential elections yesterday. Mr Lasso, who is aged 42, and is the National Democratic Party candidate, will take office on September 1 as Ecuador's first constitutional chief executive since President Jose Velasco Ibarra was overthrown in August.
