NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to the “Counties Act, 1920," the "Rating Act, 1925,” and the “Land Drainage Act, 1L08,” and all Amendments thereto, that it is the intention of the Halswell County Council at a meeting to be held on THURSDAY, the 24th day of JUNE, 1948, TO MAKE AND LEVY the following rates : A GENERAL RATE (inclusive of HOSPITAL BOARD LEVY) of One Penny Farthing in the Pound (IJd in the £) on the rateable value of all rateable property in the County of Halswell. A SEPARATE RATE of Five-eighths of a Penny in the Pound in Class A. One Half-Penny in the Pound in Class B; and One Farthing in the Pound in Class C on the rateable value of all rateable property within the Halswell Drainage Area. Such rates are for the period commencing on the FIRST DAY OF APRIL, 1948, and ending on the 31ST DAY OF MARCH, 1949, and to become due and payable in one sum at the County Office, 3 Asylum road, Spreydon, on the 9th day of AUGUST. 1948.
