RECOGNITION BY N.Z. DENIED
From Our Own Reporter WELLINGTON, May 16. It was learned from an authoritative source in Wellington tonight that there was no truth in a cabled report from Tel Aviv that New Zealand had recognised the State of Israel. However, it is understood that the question of recognition will be considered by the New Zealand Government very soon. A Reuter cablegram from Tel Aviv quoted “a Government source” to say that New Zealand and Sweden had recognised the i aew Jewish State.
