STALEMATE IN GERMANY

NO CAUSE SEEN FOR ALARM STATEMENT BY GENERAL CLAY (Rec. 7 p.m.) BERLIN, April 29. There was no cause for alarm over the 1 present East-West stalemate in Germany, said General Lucius Clay, the American Military Governor in Germany. There was no plan to strengthen the United States forces in Germany, he said.

He added: “I am not worried about a war to-morrow or the next day.”
