♦ OFFICIAL FORECASTS "The Press” Special Service WELLINGTON, April 30. The weather forecast for Canterbury, issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Office. Wellington, and dealing with the 20 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: An anti-cyclone covers New Zealand. but pressures are low south of Southland, and are falling to the east. Forecast to 5 p.m.: light to moderate south-west winds. Weather fair. Temperatures moderate. Further outlook: fair. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the Bouth Island is:— Light winds. Weather cloudy. Temperatures moderate. Further outlook: cloudy. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch yesterday Was fine and mild. The maximum temperature was 57.7 degrees. At midnight the sky was clear and there was no wind. The barometer, at 30.25 inches (1024.4 -millioars) was falling steadily.
