WELLINGTON BEATS CANTERBURY

In a representative softball game between Wellington and Canterbury, played at Athletic Park on Saturday, Wellington won by 15-11. Wellington opened the batting and at the end of the first innings Canterbury led by 3 to 1. In the second innings Canterbury still held the advantage and led 6-2, but Wellington made a fine recovery in the third and at the end of the session the score was 8-6 tn Wellington’s favour. In the next innings Wellington led 12-8, at the end of the fifth by 12 to 9, and eventually ran out the winner by 15 to 11.
