FINNISH SOVIET TREATY
MILITARY LEADERS 10 GO TO MOSCOW
HELSINKI. March 18. Experts whom the Finnish Government has appointed to accompany the political delegation which will go to Moscow on Saturday to discuss the mutual-assistance pact with Russia, include General Henrichs, the Finnish Chief of Staff during the war against Russia from 1941-44, and Major-Gen-eral Oinonen, the present Chief of Staff.
The President (Mr Paasikivi), in his final instructions to the delegates, told them to press for less far-reaching terms than those in the Russian-Hun-garian pact which Mr Stalin cited as a model for the Finnish pact. The Helsinki correspondent of the Associated Press says that the Finnish newspapers devoted columns to President Truman’s speech, but they did not comment.
