The- weather forecast for Canterbury Issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 20 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: Situation: a depression In the South Tasman Sea is moving south-east. Forecast: moderate winds, north-east cn coast, north-west inland. Weather fair to cloudy and mild. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island Is:— Moderate to fresh north-east winds. Weather cloudy. Rain developing tn the south. Temperatures moderate. (HEISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch yesterday was overcast and cool (maximum temperature 60 2 degrees), with moderate north-east winds. Light rain was falling at 1 a.m. and there was a moderate east wind. The barometer at 30.11 Inches (1010.7 millibars) was falling.
