COMMUNISM

Sir, —What is Communism? It is the common method by which people adhere to religious and political creeds and social conventions. The term at present is used to distinguish one side in an expected martial conflict from the other. The terms applied by white Communists or blue ones to red ones, or vice versa, are the normal ones used in similar circumstances. Hannibal used them in regard to Rome and Rome in regard to Hannibal; Joe Chamberlain passed the same remarks about General Jan Christian Smuts and General Smuts about Joe Chamberlain. They are the words that lead to blows. War is the most filthy practice we are addicted to and villifying opponents is the most filthy practice, in connexion with war.—Yours, etc., H. J.* BUTTLE. Darfleld, March 17, 1948.

Sir,—ln “The Press” to-day (page 7) I see Australia is concerned over international events, and that they are keeping a close check on Communists there. They have also a dossier in the Security Service files on every known and suspected Communist. Why don’t we have the same system in operation here and get on with the rounding up and deporting of Communists? They are self-confessed enemies, and speak disloyally of the Empire, and everything British with their Communist (Russian) propaganda. They start strikes and hold-ups, causing trouble and expense to the country. If these same Communists started a strike or hold-up in Soviet Russia they would have to face a firing squad, quick and lively, and they know it. Why allow them to have these strikes here then? —Yours, etc., R. STRUAN. March 15. 1948.

Sir,—Karl Marx, descendant of centuries of Rabbis, is responsible for the Manual of Terror which has inspired Communism. Stalin refers to “we Marxians” and is married to a Jewess. Lenin and 29 others were taken across Germany in a sealed train, financed by German Jews, for the revolution. The late President of the Soviet, Kalinin, was a Jew. Trotsky was a Jew, and Litvinoff is a Jew, besides. many others. Douglas Reid, visiting Soviet Russia officially; fodna fH6 censorship department, which means the whole machine for controlling the home and muzzling the foreign press, staffed entirely by Jews. Siberia cradles a fertile Jewish autonomous State, Birobidzhan, and now we have Soviet officers prepared to command the Jewish forces in Palestine. The whole tie-up is just too neat and so we come to that Jewish Protocol chapter on world chaos, which the Communists are now proved to be promoting.—Yours, etc., ROUND UP COMMUNISTS. March 17, 1948.

Sir, —The best definition of Communism is found in the Bible, 2 Corinthians, VIII chap., verse 14; and the only time it existed on earth was among the early Christians. Briefly, it is a society where everyone gives according to his ability and receives according to his needs. Personal and national co-operation for the common good. This fine ideal is the Communists’ ultimate goal. A Communist is a member of the Communist Party, This party follows its Interpretation of the teaching of Marx and points out that you cannot jump from a capitalist society to a Communist society without first attaining absolute Socialism; that is a society where everyone is paid according to his work. And thus the incentive is given to produce an abundance of everything This society, according to the Communist idea, can only be attained under the bureau, cratic control of the Communist Party. —Yours, ete„ A STUDENT OF MARX March 16, 1948.
