PIGEON FLYING
The Canterbury Pigeon Flying Club held • young bird race from Kaikoura on Saturday. One hundred and forty-one entries were received from 19 lofts. Weather 5° nditions were again good, but a southerly breeze was encountered by the Birds in the morning and the times recorded were slower than usual. The wintung bird was owned bv Mr E. B. French, «Jd covered the 104 miles 786 yards in znr 48 min 25sec. The clubs’ trophy prize won by Mr French. The nominated bird prize was won by Mr L. l On^ s - Probable results are as follows: i 910, 1090 vards a minute, 1: D Broad's No. 457, 1084, 2; E. Milne’s jo. 797. 1083, 3. A.
