Measures to safeguard the British legal title to sovereignty, said the Foreign Secretary (Mr Ernest Bevin) in the House of Commons. Mr Bevin said he understood that Argentine and Chilean naval parties bad landed at certain points in the dependencies. Asked if there would be a forcible removal of these posts, he fctd: “I do not like to threaten anyone while negotiations are proceeding."
