NOMINATIONS FOR R.S.A. OFFICERS

MR E. ORCHARD RETIRING

There were two nominations for the position of president of the Christchurch Returned Services’ Association and 25 for the executive of 17 when nominations for officers closed last evening. , . ~ Mr E. Orchard, who is the retiring president of last year, and has been actively associated with the work of Ihe association for 28 years, has been compelled to withdraw from the executive through ill-health. He has filled practically all executive positions during his long connexion witn the association. Messrs H. E. Batchelor and J. A Gregor were nominated for president and S. H. McGeorge and A. S. Rusden for vice-president. The election, which will be by postal ballot closes at 5 p.m. on March 15 and the results will be announced at’ the annual meeting of the association at the Civic Theatre on March 16 Members of the last executive not seeking re-election are Messrs Orchard P. H. Wood (hon. treasurer) and J. A. Bretherton. N. D. Cox. and S. Duncan.
