FLY-WEIGHT CHAMPION REINSTATED DISPUTE WITH BOARD OF CONTROL (Special Correspondent N.Z.P.A.) LONDON, January 16. The dispute between the British Boxing Board of Control and Jackie Paterson, world and British Empire fly-weight champion, over recognition of Paterson's titles, following his failure to meet Dado Marino in a challenge bout last July, has been settled. The board has now acknowledged that when Paterson was called before the stewards to explain why he did not fulfil his engagement, he did not realise that the statements he then made might affect his titles. Following legal proceedings by Paterson to restrain the board from ,rec.ognislng any other person as the holder of his titles, the board admitted ils mistake and reinstated Paterson.

Paterson claimed that he was too ill to go into the ring with Marino, and he did not attend the weighing-in.
