CHINESE RESIST ACTION TO DESTROY SHACKS HONG,KONG, January 12. Police and Chinese “squatters” in the former walled city of Kowloon fought a pitched battle this morning when the police sought to destroy 20 shacks which had been re-erected since the site was cleared for health reasons on January 5 after 700 people had rejected eviction orders.
