In recent fashion shows held in Paris an outstanding feature was the predominance of black for dinner frocks and of white for formal evening gowns. Blue, grey, green, or red were also popular. Satin was used extensively in the new short dinner dresses, which are unusual in their simplicity. Many are made from designs which could equally well be applied to sports clothes. Some feature open necks with a broad shirt collar, three-quarter length sleeves, and full, flared skirts.
