“WINTERISED” JET FIGHTERS
TESTS IN ARCTIC BY U.S. AIR FORCE
(Rec. 11 p.m.) WASHINGTON. Dec. » The United States Air Force announced to-day that a squadron of “winterised" jet fighter aircraft has arrived in Alaska for the first mass tactical operation of jet aircraft in the Arctic.
The aircraft are equipped to withstand temperatures as low as 65 degrees Fahrenheit below zero. The squadron will undergo a six months’ training test.
