OFFICIAL FORECASTS "The Press” Special Service WELLINGTON, Dec. 26. The weather forecast for Canterbury Issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Office. Wellington, and dealing with the 20 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: Situation: a very deep depression south of the South Island is moving away. A sec< ?dary cold front is advancing over >ew Zealand from the south-west. Forecast to 5 p.m.;' moderate south-west winds, freshening at times. Weather changeable, but mainly fair. Temperatures cool to moderate. Further outlook: changeable south-westerly co- ions. WEST CO ' P The forecast for the V. : Coast of the South Island is:— Strong south-west v-Sr'-C;. Weather showery. Tempe ratui c 3 cool. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather yesterday was fine, except for some short, overcast periods, and warm. There was a fresh northerly wind during the morning, and a high northwesterly wind later in the day. At 1 o'clock this morning the sky was overcast, and there was a strong south-west wind. The barometer, rising, registered 29.20 inches (988.8 millibars). Meteorological observations taken at the Magnetic Observatory, Christchurch, on Friday, December 26:
