MOTHERS’ CLUBS

COUNCIL FORMED When representatives of nine Plunket mothers’ clubs—St. Albans, Linwood, Risingholme, Central, Woolston, Kainga, New Brighton, Somerfield and Riccarton—met this week in the central Plunket rooms it Was decided to form a council of Plunket Mothers’ Clubs in the city. Each club is to appoint two delegates to the council. Mrs J. D. McKenzie presided at the meeting, at which delegates outlined their club’s activities and all reported growing membership and said that keen interest had been shown in the lectures heard since the clubs had been formed a few months ago. These talks, it was stated, had covered a variety of topics, including nutrition, handling and care of babies, physical culture, doll-making and toys, books and films for children as well as talks by Plunket nurses.

Plans for a comprehensive programme for next year were discussed.
