SUPERANNUATION for the M.P.
Sir,—Thank you for your offer to me to have the last say about superannuation for the M.P. at 50, poor louis. I thank also F. H. Engelbrecht "No Means Test,” “L.H.” and “More Hurry Less Speed” and others for their able letters on self help for poor politicians, and rich ones too. I hope to see elderly people in Christchurch form an old people’s taxation protection association to get relief from the overburden of taxation in .their old age. I think if they approach the worthy Mayor of Christchurch, who is a wonderful friend to the old people, he would help them. The old people will have to fight to get relief. Again thanking “The Press.”—Yours etc., DRAINED DRY. December 4, 1947.' [This correspondence is now closed.— Ed., ‘‘The Press.”]
