POLICE FTRE ON RIOTERS
DEMONSTRATION IN ITALIAN TOWN (Rec. 7 p.m.) ROME, November 18. Policemen opened fire to-day on rioters in Corato. 26 miles west of Bari. It is reported that two demonstrators were killed and two were wounded. Telephone communications with the town have been cut, but reports indicate that there were serious incidents. The clash occurred when striking farm workers attacked the police barracks after the police had removed road blocks the strikers had set up. A relief column with light tanks has been sent from Bari to Corato.
