CANTERBURY TOURNEY The Canterbury Croquet Association’s thirty-fourth annual tournament was opened yesterday by the president, Mrs G. W. C. Smithson. Play commenced with the handicap doubles. Results:— First round.—Mesdames Brown and Whitfield (United) beat Mesdames McLennan and Cramond (United). 26-5; Mesdames Palmer and James (United) beat Mesdames Marshall and O'Rourke (St. James), 25-19; Mesdames Martin and Rowe (Opawa) beat Mesdames Burges and O'Malley (United). 26-19; Mrs Henry and Miss Collinson (United) beat Mesdames Marriott and Overend, 26-8; R. Campbell arid Mrs Dickie (South Brighton) beat Mesdames Smith and Stockdale (United). 26-10; H.
