ANNUAL COMPETITIONS BEGUN

The Canterbury Caledonian Society’s annual competitions were begun last evening in the Caledonian Hall, results of sections decided being as follows:

Swords, 1947 pupils.—Jeanette Wise 1, Jeanette Cunningham 2, Janice Barnard 3.

Highland Fling, under 14 years.—Janette Ellis 1, Helen Sibley 2, Winifred Dowling 3.

Highland Fling, open and under 17 years.—Jewell Hawker 1, Norma Bird 2, Betty Wilson -3.

Piping Marches.—C. McLeod 1, R. Johnston 2, T. Smart 3.

Swords, open and uader 17 years.— Valda Rouse 1, Jewell Hawker 2,' Rita Stanley 3.
