N.Z. RUGBY LEAGUE TEAM
FORM SHOWN IN MATCH AGAINST WALES (Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON. October 20. The Rugby League correspondent of the “Yorkshire Post” says that New Zealand’s defeat of Wales dismayed spectators who have the task of choosing the British team for the second test at Swinton on November 8.
“The lesson of the first test.’’ says the correspondent, “was that Britain needs more attacking punch at the centre and greater strength among the last three men down in the scrum. The fact that five of New Zealand's six tries weretscored by forwards did not speak well for the performance of the Welsh pack in the loose.’’ Reuters says that A. Graham, the New Zealand vice-captain, injured a knee while training at Ilkley. He may be out for three weeks, and may mis* the second test at Swinton. R. Cunningham and R. McGregor are recovering from their injuries and may play again in about a week.
