DANISH BUTTER FOR RUSSIA
Surplus Previously Sent To Britain REPORTED^RESULT OF TRADE TALKS (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 11 p.m.) LONDON, October 8. “Russia has decided to buy Denmark’s butter surplus, previously exported to Britain, as a result of the Danish-Soviet trade talks, which ended to-day,” says the “Daily Telegraph’s” correspondent in Copenhagen. “Until January Russia is going to import about 6000 tons of Danish butter at 3s 4d per lb, a price Britain refused to pay. “In return, Russia will deliver to Denmark 60,000 tons of rye and 40,000 tons of barley.
“The agreement also involves Danish bacon exports to Russia, but the quantities are not yet known.”
