GREEK AMNESTY
MR SOFOULIS ADMITS FAILURE
OFFER EXTENDED FOR MONTH
(Rec. 7 p.m.) ATHENS, October 7. The Prime Minister of Greece (Mr Sofoulis), though admitting that the offer of amnesty for guerrillas had failed, said it would be extended for a month.
He had hoped that at least half the guerrillas would accept, but no mass surrender had occurred, largely because of threats which guerrilla leaders had made against those suspected of intending to surrender.
