UNITED NATIONS FLAG
DESIGN APPROVED (Rec. 11 p.m.) NEW YORK, Oct. 7. The United Nations to-day approved the design of the United Nations flag. It will be a light blue field bearing in white the emblem of the United Nations—a polar map of the world embraced in olive branches.
A similar flag was used unofficially by the Balkans Investigating Commission to identify itself ip troubled parts of northern Greece. It was recalled to-day that the League of Nations debated the subject of a flag off and on for 10 years without settling the question. The United Nations Legal Committee settled it today in five minutes.
