EXECUTION OF MR PETKOV
BULGARIAN REPLY TO BRITAIN (Rec. 7 p.m.) SOFIA, October 7. Bulgaria, in an official reply to the British protest against the execution of Mr Petkov. said that the Bulgarian Government did riot dispute Britain’s right to insist on the fulfilment of the terms of the peace treaty, but the Petkov case did not come within those terms.
“Petkov was tried and sentenced for the common cripies of espionage and treason. The peace treaty does not govern these matters.”
