STOCK EXCHANGES A BRIGHTER TONE Markets were brighter on call on the Christchurch Stock Exchange yesterday and there was an increased volume of business in a wider range of stocks. Price movements for the most part were m favour of sellers. Taupiri Coal shares continued their upward move, vvith the sale of an odd parcel at 90s. Strong buying support was in evidence in most sections of the market, and in the Government stock section only one seller appeared.
