BOXER’S DIET
MURPHY TAKES FOOD TO ENGLAND COLD STORAGE ORDERED FOR MEAT (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Cktober 5. A daily diet of a pouna of steak, four eggs, plenty of green food, carrots, and ice cream for two New Zealanders in England may be calculated to arouse some enmity under present-day conditions. Provision for this diet was made by the New Zealand boxer, Bos Murphy, before leaving for Englana accompanied by the Hutt Vafley boxer, Johnnie McKenna. A Press Association Reuter from London says Murphy cabled the British promoter, Jack Solomons, tn arrange cold storage space for two hundredweight of meat he was bringing with him, so that he would not go short. Mr P. J. Galvin, Murphy’s employer, said to-night that the preparations Murphy had made for a stay of approximately eight months in Englana included not only meat, which cost between £ll and £l2, and consisted mainly of steaks, livers, and fat, dui also 30 dozen eggs, plenty of jams, canned milk, and soap.
