DANISH FOOD CONTRACTS
agreements' lapse WITH BRITAIN (Special Correspondent N.Z.P.A.) (Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, October 3. As the result of the failure of the food negotiations between Britain and Denmark, Danish contracts, except one long-term contract for eggs, have lapsed without any immediate prospect of renewal. Although Denmark has been supplying between 15 and 20 per cent, 'of the British butter and bacon ration, the effect is not likely to be felt in Britain for some weeks. The Danish trade delegation suggested that Britain might agree to barter manufactured goods and coal for butter and bacon without fixing the prices, but the British negotiators rejected the proposal.
