FACTORIES FOR REPARATIONS
RUHR UNIONS OPPOSE DISMANTLING __ _ , HAMBURG, September 27. • e Ruhr tra de unions have ordered their members not to co-operate in dismantling reparations factories in the western zone of Germany. The Military Governor of the United States zone (Lieutenant-General Lucius Clay) said that the Military Government, whether the Germans liked it or not, would go ahead with posting for the reparations list German factories considered surplus to the new level of industry for western Germany. He added: “If German trade unionists refuse to obey the order to dismantle these factories they can hardly expect us to keep shipping in food to feed them.”
