BOXING
EASY WIN FOR ELLUL (P.A.) AUCKLAND. Sept.. 29. In his first fight for 15 months, Vince Ellul, Australian welter-weight, showed superior speed, experience, and ringcraft to gain a comfortable points decision over lan Cruickshank. New Zealand champion, in a professional boxing contest this evening. Because of his lack of fitness, Ellul showed sound tactics in making every punch and movement effective. The speed of his punches consistently beat Cruickshank, and his clever weaving made the New Zealand champion miss with many of his leads. Ellul weighted lost 61b and Cruickshank IQst 3jlb.
