IMMIGRANT SHIP INTERCEPTED
BOARDING PARTY RESISTED
(Rec. 9 p.m.) JERUSALEM, Sept. 27. British naval units off the Palestine coast intercepted and boarded a Jewish illegal immigrant ship which is believed to be carrying 450 Illegal immigrants. The ship, with two escorting destroyer?, arrived st Haifa to-night. It is reported that the Jews resisted boarding for about 20 minutes, during which a naval rating in the boarding pgfty fired'five shots, Killing one Jew and .wounding two. The shooting occurred when Jews hryidishing crowbars surrounded the other Jews were injured. The ship is described as a former tank-lapdipg craft. On arrival at Haifa the Jews disembarked without resistance. It is understood that they will be sent to I Cyprus. .
