JEWS HELD AT LUBECK
OFFER BY FRENCH GOVERNMENT
(Rec. 8 p.m.) BERLIN, September 25. A French offer to receive any of the 4350 “Exodus” Jews encamped outside Lubeck will be reed to them over loud-speakers this morning by British Military Government officials. The French Government is prepared to receive the refugees at roughly 10 days’ notice.
The British Control Commission has announced: 'The main object of removing the illegal immigrants from Palestine was to return them to France, which they left without per-: mission and with forged documents stating that their destination was Colombia. The British Government therefore hopes that the illegal immi-, grants will go to France. If they retose, it will be quite clear that they remain to the British zone of their, own free will. “Those volunteering to return to France will continue to receive the present generous ration scale of 2800 calories a day until their departure rattons remainfag wiu get German 2 s ,2! e J qu A stioni,Jg immigrants is finished the camps will cease to be guarded and the barbedThe International Refugee Organisation has promised to consider appeals for care and. assistance.”
